Adrian D. “Ade” Buteyn, 86, of Williams St. passed away Thursday Oct. 5, 2017 in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville. He was the husband of Joyce H. (Nydam) Buteyn.
A longtime resident of Uxbridge, he was employed at Anchor Motor Freight Co. in Framingham for 20 years until his retirement in 1987. He also had worked as a mechanic for Nydam Oil Co.
Mr. Buteyn was born April 28, 1931 in Alto, WI the son of the late John and Dena (Kamphuis) Buteyn and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War.
Ade was a member of the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church in Whitinsville where he had served as a Deacon, an Elder and a Sunday school teacher. He served on the Whitinsville Christian School Board and was a member of the truck driver’s union.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Buteyn is survived by two sons; David A. and his wife Jane Buteyn of Houghton, NY and John N. and his wife Marianna Buteyn of Uxbridge, two daughters; Mary J. Buteyn and her husband Barry Hosmer of Portland, ME and Deborah B. and her husband Philip Lamplough of Stow; his brother Roland Buteyn of Denver, CO; two sisters; Florence Kastein of Waupun, WI and Joyce and her husband Gene Schripsema of Albuquerque, NM; a sister-in-law Dorothy Buteyn of Eden Prairie, MN; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers; Clayton Buteyn, Gerald Buteyn, and Donald Buteyn..
Visiting hours will be Thursday Oct. 12, 2017 from 4 - 7 PM in the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, 25 Cross St., Whitinsville.
Funeral services will be held Friday Oct. 13, 2017 at 10 AM in the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Linwood Ave., Whitinsville.
